Ace of Spades Contest Entry

Entry for 's Dark Magical girl contest.

I’ll admit I was unsure about how to approach this design and then inspiration hit when I did a fancy dress up for work. I designed this OC based on what I wore. I’m quite glad I entered this contest because I came up with a whole new story based on this one character design.

Name: Elaine
Title: Ace of Spades
Weapon and Abilities: She fights with a staff that has a large spade shape blade that can pretty much cut anything. She's very fast and uses an evasive strategy when fighting.
Personality: Strong willed, very loyal (To a fault) and an honourable fighter.

Back Story:
In another realm parallel to Earth there is an enchanted Kingdom, where four knights called Aces serve their ruler.

Every 40 years a new Ace is chosen from the Noble bloodlines, the house of Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades. The Ace of Spades, Elaine and her three friends had only been in service for a few years before the current king passed away from illness, leaving his young son to take up the thrown. All seemed well when the prince rose to power, but it quickly became clear he planned to take control of other realms, including Earth.

The Ace of Hearts, Raine, was dismissed from the courts when she spoke out against the king’s plans. After banishing her, the king ordered the three remaining Aces to execute Raine, but she had managed to awaken an ancient machine that would put the realm into a deep sleep and escape to Earth before they found her. Once there, she made preparations to create four new Aces to battle when the kingdom awakens in 40 years. Raine’s granddaughter becomes the new Ace of Hearts and three new bloodlines are created; Stars, Moons and Flowers.

When the kingdom wakes from its slumber the king sends his minions to Earth to take control of the planet. The Ace of Diamonds, Clubs and Spades are the main antagonists that fight against the young magical girls.

Although Elaine would not wish harm on innocent people she is extremely loyal to the king and will fight for him. She is the most powerful of the Aces and is a fierce opponent for the Ace of Stars.
